Marko&Placemakers was part of a collaborative team for the revitalization of PLATO Center - a multifunctional space for contemporary art which is to be housed in the former municipal slaughterhouse complex in the town centre of Ostrava. The aim of the proposal was to create a functional space for the cultural center that celebrates the 19th Century industrial heritage building. The external spaces are conceived as generous and fully integrated active social spaces, interconnecting the main parts of the quarter: an open meadow, the original historic building of the gallery, an active inner atrium and a new multifunctional pavilion.
